Who are we?
Jewish Community Iceland – Beit Tovah Chabad is your home for Jewish life in Iceland.
We are dedicated to creating opportunities for Jewish learning and celebration in a warm and non-judgmental atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
Jewish Community Iceland - Beit Tovah Chabad was established in 2018 by Rabbi Avraham and Mushky Feldman. The Feldman's work together with the local Jews who kept Judaism active for decades.
In 2021, following a team effort, Iceland officially recognized the Jewish community.
Who is welcome?
Everyone! We are proud to be a space for people of so many different backgrounds and walks of life. You do not need to be observant or have any previous knowledge or experience of Judaism to participate.
What is Chabad?
Chabad is a philosophy and approach within traditional Judaism.
Chabad is about exploring our rich Jewish heritage and the deepest teachings of the Torah, sharing love and care with every individual, and discovering the positivity and G-dliness within everything.
How did Chabad begin?
Chabad was founded in the 18th century by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, who made the deeper teachings of Judaism accessible and brought greater meaning, understanding, and joy to Jewish traditions and customs.
Beginning in the 1950s, under the leadership of Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, the Rebbe, Chabad grew into a worldwide movement caring for the spiritual and physical needs of Jews around the world.
How are Chabad Houses funded?
Each Chabad House is responsible for its own activities and for its own budget. Chabad Houses and Chabad rabbis and rebbetzins are not supported by any central office. It is thanks to generous friends like you who make the activities of Chabad possible.

Our organization and our building
The name of our organization is "Jewish Community Iceland - Beit Tovah Chabad." The name of our building is "Beit Shvidler Jewish Center of Iceland."
